Privacy Policy

The short version. bagboy collects what it needs to run your games, your crews and your feed — and nothing else. We don't sell your data, we don't show ads, and we don't track you across other apps or websites. bagboy never holds or moves your money.
Who we are
bagboy is made by Bud Bros LLC ("bagboy", "we", "us"). This policy covers the bagboy iPhone app and this website. If you have a question, email support@joinbagboy.com.
What we collect
When you sign in
You sign in with Apple or Google. We receive an account identifier and, if you allow it, your name and email address. If you use Apple's "Hide My Email", we get a private relay address instead. We never see your Apple or Google password.
Your profile
What you choose to add: your name, a @handle, a profile photo, a short bio, your town, your Handicap Index and your Venmo username. You can also add your phone number — it stays private and is only used so a friend who already has your number can find you in search.
Your golf
The rounds, tournaments and games you create or join: the course and tees, the players, hole-by-hole scores, the games and amounts your group sets, the results, who owes who (and whether it's been settled), chug calls and answers, crews, seasons, challenges, friends and friend requests.
What you post
Posts, photos, comments and likes in the feed, messages in round and crew chat, and anything you report to us.
Photos
bagboy uses Apple's photo picker. It can only see the photos you pick — never the rest of your library.
Location
Only while you're using the app, and only if you allow it. Your location is used on your phone to find golf courses near you and show distances on the course. It is sent to Apple Maps to search for nearby courses. We do not store your location on our servers or share it with other players.
Notifications
If you turn on notifications, we store your device's push token so we can send you invites, chug alerts, payouts and friend requests.
What we don't collect
No contacts, no microphone, no camera roll beyond what you pick, no advertising identifier, no analytics or ad SDKs, and no payment information — bagboy never handles money.
How we use it
- To run the app: create and score rounds, keep the money math, run tournaments, crews and seasons, and show the feed.
- To connect you with friends and crews, including search by name, @handle or phone number.
- To send the notifications you've turned on.
- To keep bagboy safe: to review reports, enforce our Community Guidelines and Terms, and prevent abuse.
- To answer you when you contact us.
We don't sell your personal information, we don't use it for advertising, and we don't use it to track you across other companies' apps or websites.
Who sees your information
- Everyone on bagboy can find your name, @handle, photo and Handicap Index in search. Your phone number is never shown to anyone.
- Your friends see your posts and your profile.
- Your crews see crew posts, crew chat, crew rounds, seasons and records.
- The players in a round or tournament see its scores, games, results and who owes who. Round results you've played in stay on the other players' phones as part of their history.
- Venmo: when you tap Pay or Collect, bagboy opens Venmo with the other player's username and the amount filled in. Nothing is sent until you send it in Venmo.
We may also share information if the law requires it, to protect the safety of people, or as part of a merger or sale of the business (with this policy still applying).
Service providers
We use a small number of companies to run bagboy. They process data only on our behalf:

How long we keep it
We keep your information while your account is open. When you delete your account, your profile and the content attached to it are deleted from our servers right away (backups roll off within 30 days).
Deleting your account
In the app: Profile → Settings → Delete Account. Or use our account deletion page. Deleting removes your profile, posts, photos, comments, likes, friends, crew memberships, the rounds and tournaments you created, and your push tokens. Copies of shared round results can remain on other players' phones.
Your rights
You can see and edit your profile in the app at any time. You can ask us for a copy of your information, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it by emailing support@joinbagboy.com. If you live in California or another state with a privacy law, you have these rights under that law, and we will not treat you differently for using them. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Age
bagboy is for people 18 and older, and its drinking features are only for people 21 and older. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you think someone under 18 is using bagboy, tell us at support@joinbagboy.com and we'll delete the account.
Security
Your data is encrypted in transit, stored with access rules on every table so people only see what they're supposed to see, and sign-in is handled by Apple and Google. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top, and if the change is significant we'll tell you in the app.
